On 2,800 hectares of family farmland in New Zealand’s South Island lies one of the country’s most remotely beautiful spots, renowned for its picturesque rolling hills, rugged merino-rearing hill country, and vine-clad river plains. This magical place is woven into the McDonald story- one of inimitable quality, and love for the land.
We teamed up with NZ DoP Andrew McGeorge and traveled south to wine country, to begin filming on this great location for our latest project – a brand campaign Mesh are undertaking for McDonald Textiles NZ LTD. This luxury knitwear company produces natural garments from Merino wool, possum and silk, with a sustainable field to fashion story.
The follow up from the farm involved a factory shoot and then a fashion editorial at a gallery in one of Aucklands regional gardens. The production was a lot of fun with many collaborating elements from wardrobe stylists, make up, lighting, stills to cinematography. As well as directing and planning the shoot, Mesh will complete a brand edit with cut downs for social including the grade and motion graphics.
